Thursday is SANNIN day! So we held a meeting as usual last Thursday

We began with Japanese language lesson! The teacher, Ekky, was very excited to teach the kids about '3 basic movement Japanese verb', ikimasu (go), kimasu (come), and kaerimasu (go home). Unfortunately, the former lesson was nowhere near the base knowledge needed for learning verb, so the teacher was like jumping from one subject to another *boing*. We had to explain things twice sometimes.
The funny thing happened when a kid asked about the difference between 'wa' and 'no' particle. The teacher said, "'Wa' is used to explain that the word in front of it is subject, while 'no' is used to explain ownership as my, your, etc." It's understandable, I think, but the kids needed some explanation. I then got an idea. I took a folder that have Sasuke and Naruto in front of it. I said then,"The example is like this. When I say, 'Watashi wa Sasuke desu,' it's mean 'I am Sasuke." (Hey, I AM Sasuke, said someone from the right side of the class ) I continued, " When I say
'Watashi no Sasuke', it means 'My Sasuke'. Understand?" The whole class shouted a disapproval "Huu~!". Hey, examples should be memorable, right?
I got a message the Thursday night informing that we'll make sushi the next day so I have to bring a knife. Mmm, it's a food no cat can resist. It's FISH ! Well, none of us have eaten raw fish before so we changed the raw fish with canned mackerel-in-chili-and-tomato-sauce. As long as it's fish, it's yummy
After pray Ashar, the ingredients was perepared on a table in front of the class. We had canned mackerel, rice, nori, canned mushroom (which is uncooked so none try it ), rice vinegar (with white wine in it unfortunately), and many more. The kids love nori sooo~ much that it was nothing left when we were about to start! We had to buy some more then.
Meanwhile, the girls learned how to prepare the mackerel sushi. First, put nori on the sushi roller. Then spread rice on the nori and put the mackerel on the rice. Roll the roller. Simple, right? But we didn't have the roller so we roll it with our hand . Someday we'll have sushi roller. Yeah, someday...
So what did the boys do when the girls was making sushi? They chatted. They played Yu-Gi. They didn't want sushi? "We do," said a boy, "but cooking is for girls. Eating is for boys."
After some sushi snacking, we tidied up the class by putting the dirty dishes outside! At least the class was okay to be said a class than a restaurant's dirty kitchen . Then we went home with mouth smelled like fish. Next time we'll have the real sushi! [LuPh]
